This hat is inspired by Northern Alberta and designed for a cold winter. The warmth of a brimmed hat will help you sustain cold weather, or you can wear it as a slouchy on a cool day. There are 8 sizes in the pattern, so you can keep your entire family warm and cozy. This pattern includes row-by-row instructions, abbreviations, special stitches, techniques, and knitting diagrams.

KNITTING LEVEL & SKILLS:
• Intermediate
• Knit, purl, cable knitting, k2tog, ssk, p2tog, left lifted purl increase, knitting in the round using the Magic Loop method (preferred).

• Preemie 11” – 13” (28 – 33 cm)
• Newborn 13” – 15” (33 – 38 cm)
• Baby 15” – 17” (38 – 43 cm)
• Toddler 17” – 19” (43 – 48 cm)
• Child 19” – 21” (48 – 53.5 cm)
• Preteen 21” – 22” (53.5 – 56 cm)

TOOLS & MATERIALS you will need:
• You can use 1 strand of Bulky weight yarn (5), or combine 1 strand of Worsted weight (4) and 1 strand of Fingering weight/Sock yarn (1). Fiber — Wool blend or acrylic. You will need 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) hank(s) of Berroco Vintage Chunky or 1 hank of Berroco Vintage + half a hank of Hand-dyed Fingering weight Sock yarn.
• Circular needles, at least 32” (80 cm) long — 4.5 mm (US 7, UK 7) and 6 mm (US 10, UK 4), or any size needed to obtain the gauge.
• Cable needle in a suitable size
• Tapestry needle
• Blocking board and/or towel
• Faux Fur pom-pom (optional)

GAUGE: 15 sts X 20 rows = 4” X 4” (10 cm X 10 cm) in stocking stitch with larger needles, after blocking.
