Our Story

From The Designer

Ira Rott - Knitting, Quilting, and Crochet Pattern Designer
Hello fellow crafters and all handmade enthusiasts! My name is Ira Rott. I’m a Canadian pattern designer, fiber artist and author. I learned to sew, knit, and crochet at a very young age and I enjoy sharing my passion for fiber art through my quilting, knitting and crochet designs inspired by animals and nature. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Zaporizhzhia, located on the Dnieper River in southeastern Ukraine. Both of my parents are textile engineers, so I was growing up in a home packed with fabrics, yarns, and books. I never missed an opportunity to create, either with my parents, grandparents, or in school. Needle-crafting has always felt natural to me, as it has been a long-standing tradition in our family, passed down through generations. My happy place is where fabric and yarn meet fun!

We aim to produce easy to follow patterns and beautifully illustrated books, offer top-notch customer service, and provide comprehensive pattern support. Crochet, knitting and quilting patterns by IraRott® come with detailed instructions, images and visual diagrams. They include abbreviations, special stitches, as well as references and explanations for the techniques required to complete projects. Ira's crochet designs are inspired by animals, birds, plants and other works of nature. We add and update patterns regularly, so please check back often to see what's new or subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop!
