The pattern was well written. It would not be suitable for a brand new beginner, but certainly OK for an adventurous beginner. There was one place that required a lot of stitch markers. That was a bit confusing that we figured it out. I purchased this and my 12-year-old granddaughter was the maker of it. She succeeded and it is darling. She’s very happy with it. One word of caution… She only put three loop panels in the mane because four made it simply too heavy and lopsided. For a child size.
I love this hat! I hyperfocused on it and finished it in a week. As an overly-confident beginner, I only struggled with the ribbing stitches on the ear flaps. But I winged it, and it turned out fine. I also used a different rainbow yarn based on what I could find, and added shorter curls in front instead of the flowers. Otherwise, I followed it exactly and it's gorgeous! Thank you!
