I began sewing by hand when I was very young, fascinated by the simple magic of needle and thread. By the time I was twelve, I had saved enough to buy my very first sewing machine... a moment that felt like stepping into a much bigger creative world. From there, I dove into everything I could learn: drafting patterns from measurements, designing my own garments, and experimenting with fabrics just to see what I could make.
Somewhere in those early years, I stitched together my first scrap quilt. It was humble and a little chaotic, but it planted a seed. At the time, I didn’t realize quilting would eventually become one of my greatest creative loves.
That part of the story began much later...

In 2015, while wandering through the Fergus Scottish Festival, I came across a group of quilters gathered around a large frame, working together on a beautiful quilt. I stopped to watch... completely captivated by the rhythm of their stitches and the sense of community around the frame. They noticed my interest, smiled, and invited me to join them.

They placed a needle in my hand, guided me through a few stitches, and let me quilt a small section of their project. It was such a simple gesture, but something clicked in that moment. Standing there, stitching alongside experienced quilters, I felt a spark of belonging and inspiration that I hadn’t expected.

That was the true beginning of my quilting journey... one that continues to grow, evolve, and bring joy to my creative life.
