Ukraine has always held a very special place in my heart. It’s where I was born, where my dad read me bedtime stories, where my mom taught me the joy of needle‑crafting, and where my grandma passed down life lessons, including how to make proper Ukrainian Borscht (yes… that’s a skill, not just a recipe). It will forever be the place I proudly call my motherland.

A Symbol of Strength and Hope
The sunflower is a powerful symbol of Ukrainian identity, representing sunlight, prosperity, well‑being, and peace. My latest designs were created with a heart full of sorrow and a deep desire to support the people of Ukraine during this difficult time.

Make Your Own Sunflower Creations
Like the warm yellow sun, sunflowers have a way of bringing comfort and joy to everyone. If you’d like to make your own, the Sunflower Power Coasters pattern is free on my site. They’re bright, cheerful, and a lovely way to share hope.

Sunflower Rugs & Doilies
A sunflower rug makes a beautiful statement piece in any home. You can crochet it using super bulky Bernat Blanket yarn (6) or three strands of medium‑weight yarn (4) held together.
The pattern is available here: Sunflower Power Doily Rug

From the same pattern, you can also create a matching doily simply by using thinner yarn or thread with a smaller hook. The 18″ doily shown here was made with a single strand of medium‑weight yarn (4) and a 4.25 mm (G) hook. The thinner the yarn, the smaller and more delicate your doily will be.

Made With Love by Our Testing Team
