Just in time for spring, introducing my new Awesome Blossom cardi pattern, featuring fabulous Jewelspun Aran by Sirdar. Get the best of both worlds with your choice of warm or cool shades, this yarn offers a range of soft pastels to bold and vibrant colors, making it perfect for all seasons and styles.
Choose from sizes XS to 5XL for a perfect fit based on your body measurements and the preferred amount of ease. As a bonus, this pattern includes 2 styles, so you could choose the length for your comfort:
- Short cardigan with 4 motifs across the back - 21.5" (54.5 cm)
- Long Cardigan with 5 motifs across the back - 26" (66 cm)
I used Jewelspun Aran / Sunstone Amber color for the short cardigan and Midnight Fjords color for the long cardigan. For contrasting colors, I used Berroco Vintage / Red Pepper for the short cardigan and Sirdar Snuggly Supersoft Aran / Navy for the long cardigan.
Depending on the size and style, you will need between 1160 m (1269 yd) and 2080 m (2275 yd) of the main color + 200-300 g of any accent color. For this short cardigan in size S, I used under 3 balls of Jewelspun Aran, and I had enough leftovers to make 2 matching Alpine Beauty hats!!
While the hood is a centerpiece of this design, there are some tips in the pattern if you want to finish it without a hood. Here is an Awesome Blossom cardi by Ashley Smith Jamieson from our testing team. This is size S, made with 2 Caron Big Cakes and 1 Loops & Threads Impeccable.
