Keep your crochet rugs safe, secure, and easy to care for with a removable non‑slip liner. This simple method lets you wash and dry your rug and liner separately... no fuss, no slipping, and no permanent attachment.
Materials You’ll Need
- Easy Liner (shelf liner) or Rug Grip material
- VELCRO® Hook Tape (sew‑on or adhesive). You can also use the hook side from any hook‑and‑loop tape
- Basic sewing machine (optional)
- All‑purpose sewing thread (optional)
- Scissors

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
STEP 1 — Cut the Liner
Lay the liner on the back of your rug and cut a rectangle that fits neatly inside the rug’s edges. You want it slightly smaller so it stays hidden.

STEP 2 — Add VELCRO® Hook Strips
Cut four strips of hook tape to match the shorter edge of your liner.
Space them evenly across the liner.

STEP 3 — Attach the Hook Tape
Choose your method:
- Sewing method: Straight‑stitch around each strip to secure it.
- No‑sew method: Press the adhesive side firmly onto the liner.

STEP 4 — Apply the Liner to the Rug
Roll the liner with the hook side facing out.
Place the roll at the top edge of the rug and unroll it toward the bottom.
Hand‑press the liner so the hooks grip the rug’s fibers.

STEP 5 — Remove Before Washing
Gently peel off the liner before laundering.
Wash the rug and liner separately, following the care instructions for each material.

Your rug is now protected, secure, and easy to maintain... no slipping, no stretching, and no permanent attachments.
