For example, in the diagram below, the first granny square has 20 regular arches in Rnd 5. When joining the second square, those arches become 14 regular arches + 6 joining arches (still totaling 20).
Arch Definitions
- Regular arch: ch 3
- Joining arch: ch 1, sl st in the corresponding arch of the previous motif, ch 1
This simple adjustment allows the motifs to lock together beautifully.
