John the Canadian Teddy Bear PDF Crochet Pattern


John the Canadian Bear was inspired by Canada’s 150 anniversary in 2017 and is named after our first prime minister Sir John A. Macdonald. I created him so we could celebrate Canada’s birthday together. I hope you will enjoy this pattern.

FORMAT: PDF, 16 pages, 7.3 MB (mobile devices friendly). Language - English. The pattern is written row-by-row using US crochet terms. It also includes diagrams, step-by-step photos, and a conversion chart to UK terms. Easy to follow.

SKILLS: Chain, slip stitch, single crochet, back post single crochet, working in rows and in the round, increasing, decreasing, sewing.

GAUGE: 9 sc X 9 rows = 4” X 4” (10 X 10 cm), working with Bernat Blanket yarn & a 9 mm (M/N) hook.
