In the past few months I learned something important – Unity is the only way to victory. We can only be strong when we are standing together and supporting each other. My new design is inspired by the bravery of Ukrainian people and is dedicated to my strong, loving and caring parents. Together We Stand Bucket Hat pattern is written in English and I recently translated it to Ukrainian with the help of my mom.

Pink bucket hat took on a new patriotic meaning, symbolizing unity & pride after Kalush Orchestra has won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest for Ukraine. The meaning behind the original Panama Kalush is to unite Ukrainians around the world and to help in raising funds for Ukrainian warriors.
Interesting fact – Kalush is a city set in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) of western Ukraine.

Last month we got to see our granddaughter Luna, after 3 years of traveling restrictions in Canada. This sweet and sassy little gal sure fills my heart with awe. Needless to say, she totally rocked her new pink sunhat!
The top of my bucket hat and the brim are double-sided to provide extra protection from UV rays and to hold the shape of the hat nicely. It’s a perfect summer accessory that you can make for your entire family using any of the 7 sizes included in the pattern.
Cotton yarn is the best choice for summer. For this pattern I chose Bernat Handycrafter by Yarnspirations, 100% cotton medium weight yarn (4). Any similar yarn will work as well, just remember to check your gauge before starting. For example, I made this next hat using Lily Sugar N Cream Cotton Yarn.
The contrasting lacing is a decorative add on. You can omit it if you wish or add crochet flowers instead. I used flowers from my Ukrainian Vinok pattern to decorate the hat below, it turned out quite charming. I am looking forward to seeing what you make from this pattern.
