Introducing my new snuggly buddy – Snuggles the Cactus. Unlike other cacti, Snuggles is not pokey and he won’t hurt you. He is actually very soft, cuddly, and squishy, the opposite of what a cactus is. Snuggles is the only cactus you want to snuggle with!
I designed this pattern form Bernat Blanket Brights by Yarnspiration using Go-Go Green color, such a perfect color name for a yarn that is meant for a cactus. If you worked with this yarn before, you know how soft and beautiful it is. Including the bucket, our big Mr. Snuggles measures 32″ tall.
Would you like to make a mini version of Snuggles? No problem, just find a thinner yarn and a smaller size hook. To finish this little cutie, I used slightly over 1 skein of Paintbox Simply Aran yarn and a 4.5 mm (G) Tulip hook. Snuggles Junior turned out just about 11″ including his pot.
Oh my, I was so excited when I found this adorable Yarn Bowl by Loops & Threads in Michael’s, it’s just the perfect size for my little Snuggles!!!
Mr. Snuggles is a very good friend and he doesn’t mind sharing his bowl so I could also use it for my yarn when I crochet. When Snuggles comes out of the bowl, he likes to play, listen, and snuggle of course. Our sweet doggy Buddy has found a furry new friend as well…how cute!

A matching Cactus Rug pattern is also available on our site. I hope you enjoy making these super soft cuties!
