Just in time for spring, I’m excited to introduce my new Awesome Blossom cardigan pattern, featuring the fabulous Jewelspun Aran by Sirdar. Whether you love warm or cool tones, this yarn has you covered... from soft pastels to bold, vibrant shades, making it perfect for every season and every style.

A Seamless, No‑Sew Construction
This cardigan is worked from the center back outward, building the sides and sleeves as you go. The body and hood seams are joined with a crochet hook... no sewing required (except for attaching buttons). If you’d like to learn more, check out my post on Joining Seams Without Sewing, as well as my article on Surface Crochet, which I used to outline the flower centers.
Two Styles, Many Sizes
Choose your perfect fit from XS to 5XL, based on your measurements and preferred ease. As a bonus, the pattern includes two length options:
- Short cardigan – 4 motifs across the back (approx. 21.5" / 54.5 cm)
- Long cardigan – 5 motifs across the back (approx. 26" / 66 cm)
For my samples, I used:
- Short version: Jewelspun Aran Sunstone Amber + Berroco Vintage Red Pepper
- Long version: Jewelspun Aran Midnight Fjords + Sirdar Snuggly Supersoft Aran Navy
Yardage & Bonus Makes
Depending on your size and chosen style, you’ll need:
- 1160 m (1269 yd) to 2080 m (2275 yd) of the main color
- 200–300 g of any accent color
For the short size S cardigan, I used under 3 balls of Jewelspun Aran... and had enough leftovers to make two matching Alpine Beauty hats.

Hood or No Hood - Your Choice
Although the hood is a standout feature of this design, the pattern includes tips for finishing the cardigan without a hood. Here’s a beautiful example from our testing team: Ashley Smith Jamieson made her size S version using 2 Caron Big Cakes and 1 Loops & Threads Impeccable, and it turned out stunning.

Happy Crocheting
I can’t wait to see your Awesome Blossom creations. Share your makes on social media so we can celebrate spring together in style.
