Joining Crochet Motifs With Mattress Stitch

Mattress stitch creates a smooth and almost invisible seam. Simply thread the tapestry needle with a coordinating color yarn and sew from corner to corner as follows: 

1. Insert the needle from back to front through the ch in the corner of the left motif 
2. Insert the needle from back to front through the ch in the corner of the right motif
3. Insert the needle from back to front under both loops of the next st on the left
4. Insert the needle from back to front under both loops of the next st on the right
5. Repeat steps 3-4 to corner 
6. Repeat steps 1-2 in corner
