Modern Heirloom Cable Socks idea was born when I came out to knit for Worldwide Knit in Public Day and I felt that special connection between our modern world and an old craft. This knitting pattern is in PDF format with Instant Download. It includes row-by-row instructions, abbreviations, special stitches, knitting charts, and photos.
FORMAT & LANGUAGE:
- PDF, 17 pages, 11.5 MB (mobile devices friendly)
SKILLS: Knit, purl, cable knitting, k2tog & ssk decreases, kfb increase, knitting in the round using Magic Loop method or DPNs, German short rows, grafting / Kitchener stitch.
GAUGE: 27 sts X 40 rnds = 4” X 4” (10 cm X 10 cm) in stocking stitch after blocking.
- Red Heart Yarn - Chic Sheep yarn by Marly Bird; Qty: 1 or 1 1⁄4 skein(s) depending on the size.
NEEDLES: Set of 5 DPNs — 3.25 mm (US 3) or size required to obtain the gauge. You can also use circular needles, at least 32” (80 cm) long.
